Dear group,
This Sunday 06th November, we have a special guest Heather, volunteer in ‘Cycle Basingstoke’ group and worked as a physiotherapist in hospitals, the community and industry. So can answer a lot of questions on mental and physical health benefits of Cycling.
All parents and kids are welcome as kids need to know the eco-friendly transportation alternatives to avoid cars in day to day life where ever possible.
The session would cover;
- Why Cycle?
- cycle skills & cycle training options
- where can we cycle? choosing routes
- what can we use the cycle for? for fun, for useful journeys, shopping, going to school, to work, to visit friends, to visit places…
- Family cycling including women, kids
- overcome nervous of cycling on roads
- how can we carry the shopping groceries, the school bag, laptop….
- what sort of bike to buy and from where
- bike security – maintenance, locks, bells, lights
- personal security – clothing; cycle skills and cycle training
- Cost of cycling. compare with car, bus, train
- General Question and answer session
