International Yoga Day in UK Parliament
International Yoga Day celebrations in Parliament house with Srini was good. The main aim of this day is to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. The theme for the celebration, organized by the Manavata, was”Yoga for Busy Professionals and Leaders”. Srini shared Yoga helps empowering individuals to progress towards improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga. The Yoga routine composed of mindful movement, Asanas, and Breath integration to allow a trans-formative and insightful experience in addition to Meditation that promotes personal and spiritual growth.
The theme highlights the fact that yoga can contribute in a holistic way to achieving an equilibrium between mind and body. This approach to health and well being can make a direct and useful contribution to mankind’s quest to achieve sustainable development and move towards lifestyles that are in harmony with nature.
The event was designed to educate, inspire and generate awareness of the positive impact of health and well-being integrating yoga, nutrition, meditation, and mindfulness for a holistic approach towards a happy, healthy and harmonious living.
There were around 50 guests who joined the program. In addition there was also a direct webcast to the employees of Cisco through Webex. International Yoga celebration at the UK Parliament was a platform for professionals to get involved and a wonderful opportunity to get started.
