Cycle for Humanity from Hyderabad to Tirupati (Day 6)
Cycle Yatra Day 6:
Morning we had a brief yoga / meditation at Aravind’s place and then I started at 7am. Reached Vontimitta at 8:45am.
Aravind took permission for Vontimitta School and make this ready for the session. He also brought 2 more volunteers Kadapa to help in these camps. They both Sumanth and Anil worked very well. This holiplace of Lord Rama was great inspiration with the work done by great poet Bammera Pothana with Bhagavatham big book, which has inspired several. His devotion and simplicity is exemplary and he never accepted any prizes from people or kings and dedicated his life to God.
Srini has addressed students with his inspirational experiences and covered following topics: true education, how to gain knowledge, importance of attaining self-control and self-discipline, humanity, living simple with values etc. Here teachers agreed for only 15 minutes to take the PDP session. But later all the teachers were asking us to give regular programs to their school and they would like to attend teachers training at UFH. Teachers said, first time their life had such an experience and inspiration. As they all said, they will surely take more responsibility from oday and live as example for children to learn humanity.Akepadu school session on the interior hilly area in this region near Rajampet/Tallapaka. They felt so happy as they got this kind of session first time in their school history. And all the students and teachers so inspired.Later Srini started cycled and went to Akepadu village Government High School and taken PDP session. Srini has explained in this session full of activities to realize the leadership traits and skills in children and by following certain techniques they can be the problem solver and can work continuously for self-improvement. Further, Srini added how goals add meaning to one’s life. It included an exercise of visualization in which the students were asked to visualize the goals as well as the process involved to achieve them. The objective of this activity was to help students realize the importance of setting goals, overcoming the obstacles to achieve them as well as the anxieties related to achieving those goals.
Later Srini cycled to Nandaluru village and taken the PDP session at Govt High School. Here teachers are interested to attend our teacher training program and also happy to take MAHE for schools into their school. Infact they all were relaxing when Srini went to school. Not much work to do for them. They reluctantly agreed for the session, after the session, they got the tears and few teachers emotionally felt and the importance of practical teaching to protect dharma and humanity and to give right direction for children. They said, it first time they have seen their students sitting calmly for 1.30 hour without moving. They said, they couldn’t make them sitting even for 10 minutes to listen in their classes so far in their school career. All the students, taken it so seriously to implement seva, sadhana and swadyaya in their day to day life from now. Few people came forward to take leadership for the school.
Later Srini Cycled to Tallapaka village and taken PDP session in Novodaya school interiors. I could see many teachers were under stress. They all asking for our teacher training program to attend in UFH. The session focused on career planning, self-esteem, positive thinking, stress management, time management, power dressing and communication skills. The final segment was on practicing meditation and yoga. Srini has explained our students how meditation will help them develop inner peace and harmony that will reflect outside; and how yoga is more than just an exercise. He emphasized on the practice of these two very important techniques on a regular basis, as these are considered as a way to connect the physical existence with the mind. They have the power to heal us from within and helps us overcome the overwhelming stress that today’s fast-paced life brings.
Overall today Srini Cycled 95 Kms and taken PDP sessions to 1800 students and did plantation also in the schools.
